Three Areas
Four Research Disciplines
Our work begins with three broad areas: the game, the player, and the competitive environment around them. These are explored through four specialized research disciplines.

Breaks down how a game is built and how its major components function together. Research provides a structured view of the product that teams can use when evaluating design choices, content direction, and areas that may need deeper investigation.
Game Intelligence

Player Research
Examines how people learn, navigate, and engage with a game. Research can reveal where players become confused, what holds their attention, what influences their decisions, and where the experience may create unnecessary friction.

Competitive Intelligence
Places a title alongside relevant competitors to understand meaningful similarities and differences. Research highlights how competing games approach comparable problems, where a title may stand apart, and which competitive developments deserve closer attention.

Market Intelligence
Looks beyond individual titles to understand the larger environment in which games are developed, released, and played. Research tracks shifts that may influence product planning, audience demand, commercial strategy, and emerging opportunities.
